Interactive Fiction & Hypertext Interactive Fiction are stories that you can interact with, similar to those old chose-your-own-adventure stories, but much more sophisticated. The weave of story in hypertext fiction is contained by inter-linked passages . Hypertext is a piece of information with more to it than just existing as a word, hypertexts rely on links to move the reader or player (as the choices involved in IF can lend itself to creating a game structure ) through various passages involved in the narrative. Some of my stories are decidedly more game-like than not, and others are much more single-narrative variable-experience creations.

Just FYI:
At the moment, all of my IF works are built in Twine (which you can download for your own uses if you want), and the HTML files need to be temporarily downloaded in order to be read/played (so don't freak out when you click on the link and the file downloads. I promise, I'm not trying to destroy your computer!). Just hit 'open' when prompted and the file will open up in your browser and let you get on with reading the story or playing the game. You also need to have Java and Quicktime enabled for some features. The three stories I'll be posting in the next month or so are all class projects, and as such, drafts of what I want them to be eventually. The stories are complete, but the presentation isn't quite as polished as I'd like (some typos and a lack of multimedia elements I have planned) so they'll probably be updated eventually.
