Normally,
being shy of 158cm wasn’t a problem.
For Kitty, being under 160cm was perfectly fine in terms of daily life. As of late, her daily life involved moving from hotel to hotel with the members of the Gazette. Normally, being under 160cm didn’t bother Kitty because the GazettE’s vocalist wasn’t much over 160cm, and things were stored specifically so that Ruki would be able to reach them easily and wouldn’t end up throwing a fit. It meant that, usually, anything Kitty could want to acquire was also within reach. Usually. Unfortunately, Kitty had only been actively traveling with the GazettE for a year now, and this was only her second major tour. And as it progressed she was less and less able to resist falling asleep after a long day of traveling, and by the end of it she was usually out cold when they reached their hotel. Asleep or not, she and her things had been ported up to the GazettE’s linked suites, but the crew had been left to store her things without explicit instructions. Normally, it wasn’t a problem, because with Ruki wide awake and making demands, everything was typically sorted out correctly. Anything that Ruki could possibly want to access ended up within Kitty’s reach as well. Unfortunately for Kitty on this particular lazy day of the tour, Ruki had never developed a fondness for Oreos. In fact he quite disliked them. The bright blue package of them that Kitty had brought along had ended up near the ceiling of the one closet that didn’t have a way for Kitty to climb up and grab them. Try as she might, jumping up, climbing the other stuff crammed inside, even using her shoe as a projectile to try and knock it down, nothing worked. The only bit of furniture in the suite that wasn’t bolted to the floor was an office chair that would have looked if-y on its best days. Kitty wasn’t that desperate, not quite. Ruki couldn’t help her. He wasn’t much taller than she was and there was no way he would submit to her sitting on his shoulders to grab her cookies. Aoi and Uruha were out touring the town, and Kai was busy with leaderly things, going over the week’s activities with the tour coordinator. Kitty’s female friends were still in Tokyo, Maki and Meisa had their own activities to deal with, and Leslie and Nana had school. That left Reita. Kitty sighed. This was going to be a hard sell, if it even worked at all. Reita was currently immersed in his latest project, kicking off the creation of the GazettE’s next album. Aside from the fact that he took his songs very seriously, there were few things in the world more entertaining to Reita than a frustrated Kitty. Cautiously, Kitty poked into the niche of the GazettE’s hotel space that Reita had claimed for his office and crooned, “Rei~ta~?” He didn’t look up. “Hm?” “Can you help me for a second?” “With what?” he raised his eyes as she asked, a smirk growing in his expression. “I can’t reach my cookies.” “Oh? And why should I help you with that?” Kitty’s voice was hopeful, “Because you’re the best boy-friend ever?” Reita didn’t even pretend to mull it over. “I think I’ll stay here.” Kitty pouted. “Please?” “I’m good.” “I’ll owe you one.” Reita shrugged nonchalantly. Kitty whined in frustration and came to sit neatly on Reita’s knee. She slipped under his arms arranged herself carefully with her fingers tying themselves into the folds of Reita’s shirt. She fit easily, even with his bass taking up a significant space and his posture bent over the laptop in front of him. Kitty purred into his ear, “Pretty please? With a strawberry on top?” “Strawberry, you say?” Reita chuckled and wrapped his arms around Kitty’s slim figure, his fingers tapping lightly up her sides. “It’s almost tempting.” “Please, ReiRei?” Kitty crooned sweetly. “I’ll let you have a cookie.” Shifting to pull Kitty in for a kiss, Reita chuckled. Breaking the seal after a moment, he smirked. “No.” Kitty pouted. Reita laughed. With a huff, Kitty stamped down on her boyfriend’s foot with her high heel, prompting her immediate release from his arms. In a tiff she marched away from him, calling back, “You know, Kai has been looking awfully lonely lately, what with Nana back in Tokyo. I think I’ll go ask him for help.” She went back to standing in front of the closet with her hands on her hips in frustration. She glared up at the bright blue bag that was just sitting there, taunting her. Kitty’s stomach rumbled and he decided to try the office chair. Rolling it into place, Kitty clambered up, fully aware that it was not the safest thing she’d ever done and equally aware that she didn’t care anymore. She wanted her Oreos. She stabilized herself with one hand on the edge on the closet’s rim and used the other to reach towards her prize. The enticing blue bag had been wedged into the back, so even with the office chair to aid her, it was still a few inches out of reach. It could have been miles though, for all it mattered. Kitty squealed. She tried to push further, leaning out to the very limit that her arm could take to try and grab the bag’s corner or something that she could use to knock it down. Her fingers managed to yank it a bit closer to her, but at the exact moment of realizing that success, Kitty felt the chair slide out abruptly to one side. She yelped and braced for impact, but then she felt herself fall into the strong hold of very familiar arms. Wincing, Kitty peeked up to see her fear confirmed. Reita was smirking. The bassist set Kitty down and used his impressive height to reach up and grab the bag that Kitty had managed to knock within his easy reach. Then he continued using his height to his advantage so as to taunt his favorite fun-size candy bar with her sugary fix as Kitty tried to leap up and snatch it from him. Kitty only managed to achieve her goal by reaching up on her tip toes to kiss Reita senseless as thanks for the rescue. He lowered his arms to wrap them around her waist, lowering the Oreos with them. The moment the bag was within reach, Kitty made a grab for it and twirled out of Reita’s arms with a wicked giggle. She ducked close to give Reita a kiss on the cheek, holding firmly to her Oreos, before she danced away with her prize calling, “Arigatou, Bakira.” ♡♥Finite♥♡ |
