Reita was decidedly unpleased.
They GazettE was in the final stage of prepping to release a new album and the vast majority of the band’s affiliated membership was in high spirits of excitement and anticipation. Reita’s lack-luster cheer only served to make the rest of his bandmates all the more giddy. The four knew exactly what it was that was causing the bassist’s usual sourness to slide into downright unpleasantness.
To the general observer, it didn’t make sense. Reita had played a major role in writing nearly half of the album’s new songs, and he had several impressive solos that could make anyone’s head spin. He’d even been the surprisingly genius mind behind the entire concept of the album, and was directly responsible for the idea that became the cover art and promotional poster images that would have the album selling out in pre-orders long before the date of its actual release.
The fact that the concept of the photoshoot in particular had technically been his own idea only served to piss Reita off all the more.
He actually didn’t like the concept.
He didn’t like seeing the GazettE’s female attachment strung up on a stand-alone dungeon wall in a dramatic twining of chains and shackles. He didn’t like it at all.
He’d joked about it once with Uruha and Ruki and Kai and Aoi, just once with the guys, saying that Kitty would make one hell of a hot demon temptress or something. She was normally seen as small and soft but he knew she had a sharper side. It had been a passing comment, one made after a significant consumption of alcohol.
And now it was the album concept that the GazettE was about to unleash on the world.
Yep. Reita was decidedly unpleased.
Particularly at the moment. He was on set for the final photoshoot of the album’s promotional series, the one that involved his Kitty being strung up on a wall and pretending to seduce his bandmates.
The others were fantastically amused.
Even Kitty, who was currently, and forever to remain so, utterly oblivious as to the exact cause of Reita’s foul mood, had been poking fun at him for it. She was performing her role far better than anyone aside from Reita had expected. And she was enjoying it, playing the captivating captive was thrilling fun to say the least. Besides, this was the first time she’d ever been taller than Uruha, and it was not something she would forget soon.
She was wearing a flowy white shift that was sleek and comfy in a way none of her Lolita explosions of color and fabric had ever been. It was chastely shaped and loosely fitted, but at the same time it was strikingly sheer and even as it folded around her more than twice, the black fabric of her lacey under-shift was an easy thing to spot, and the dark loops of chains wrapped alluringly around her torso served to highlight the pointed visibility. It was very different from her usual style. Kitty wasn’t thinking about making the change permanent, but it was an interesting experiment.
And Kitty was acting her part brilliantly.
It was perfect.
Reita hated it.
By this point, they’d been shooting for a few hours. The group shots first, with Kitty in the background as a point of interest to an onlooker, but not yet within range of actively seducing the GazettE’s members. Even so, her sly and seductive expressions were being caught plainly by the camera.
The first solo shots were Kai’s and Reita was on set to watch as Kitty’s hair and make-up were touched up as Kai was positioned so that Kitty could just barely reach him with an outstretched hand. He was supposed to look as if he knew he should, and could, resist her, but that he didn’t want to. His expression was dark and smoldering as he looked into Kitty’s tempting eyes and Reita began to unconsciously grind his teeth as he looked on.
Ruki and Aoi were getting a kick out of it. They were teasing him mercilessly for his apparent unease. With Kai, it was easy enough, but they had particularly good material during Uruha’s shoot. GazettE’s dramatic diva used his height to his utmost advantage, laying his head on Kitty’s thigh and trailing a hand up to rest with fingers splayed along the side of her ribcage. He wasn’t resisting Kitty, like Kai, instead he was mourning that resistance was necessary. Reita actually growled.
In order to prevent Reita from storming over as his old friend’s posture took on an added element of intrigue as Kitty’s high heel crept around the guitarist’s torso just enough to be seen, Aoi had to wrap his arm around Reita’s shoulder and physically restrain him. Aoi needed to use both hands to restrain him when Uruha checked out and Ruki went stalking off for his turn, casting Reita a smirk over his shoulder.
Ruki, outrageous as always, took the non-resistance to another level. He actually climbed up the scaffolding and wriggled his way into the net of chains that Kitty was caught in. He was neither mourning nor resisting, Ruki was actively allowing Kitty’s demoness persona to utterly entangle him, a notion of complete freedom being found in complete submission. The look in his eyes was desperate and yearning, except for the few instants that he looked mockingly over at Reita on the sidelines.
Reita’s sharp snarl at the vocalist’s audacity was so violent that it made an unfortunately nearby crew member jump away in fright. She would go on to seriously question her continued employment with the GazettE branch of PSC, but Reita didn’t even register her existence as Aoi was joined by Kai to prevent the bassist from storming off to do something stupid. Aoi’s post was taken over by Uruha as Ruki came back with a triumphant smirk and Aoi was called out for his shoot.
In front of the camera, Aoi took pity on Reita. His posture was similar to Uruha’s but less entwined with Kitty. He did however take a firm stance at the end of his shoot that Kitty needed to eat something and acquired a bowl of fruity bits that he passed up, piece by piece, to Kitty without waiting for anyone’s approval. She’d been strung up for hours without pause, and as it wasn’t feasible to take her down for a lunch break, the guitarist was insistent that a snack was due. Kitty didn’t really care, she wasn’t one to remember to eat very regularly even when she had the option of doing so. And with the crew rushing through the shoot on account of wanting to reduce the strain she was under as a living wall ornament, she’d have actually preferred to skip the snack, on account of Aoi’s persistence making everyone wait.
She only submitted to his prodding offers of fruit because if she didn’t he would stand there until she had. And until he took a look at the photos they’d captured, he wouldn’t allow the shoot to move on. The moment he’d approved of them and went back to trying to force feed Kitty, Reita shouldered Aoi not-so-subtlely out of the picture as he gruffly took control of the guitarist’s task of passing food up to the giggling girl. Aoi submitted with a sigh, grinning as Reita’s softer side peeked out a bit from the sour exterior he’d worked so hard to craft.
“What’s so funny?” Reita demanded as he succeeded in more or less shoving Aoi off set.
“You’re wearing that face,” Kitty explained as she carefully took a grape from Reita’s fingers with her teeth.
Before Reita could answer, the faint sound of laughter caught her attention and he glared over as the group his bandmates had formed. They were cackling away at his expense without doubt. “What face?” Reita demanded, his scowl at his friends transferring to meet Kitty’s eyes.
“That ‘horrifically jealous, but will never admit it’ face,” Kitty teased.
Huffing, Reita countered, “I am not jealous. Those bastards are just pissing me off.”
Kitty bit down on his fingers as he offered her another grape, provoking a startled, and most unmanly, yelp from Reita. “What was that for?”
“You shouldn’t talk about my friends that way.”
Reita grumbled incoherently and Kitty laughed again as the fruit was set aside and Reita’s shoot was called to start. Reita climbed up one side of the scaffolding, and leaned out on one arm to swing around Kitty without entangling himself in the chains as Ruki had earlier. With a hand rooting him to the platform one either side of Kitty, Reita smirked and leaned in close. “Those bastards are my friends too.”
Kitty made a face. She was an inherently tactile girl. Her typical response to Reita’s teasingly foul language would have been to launch an affectionate attack against him. As it was while she was confined by the decorative chains and the well functioning harness that kept her on the wall at all, it was impossible to do so. She settled for trying to bite his nose.
She couldn’t reach, but the moment made for the perfect image to be edited into a sexy soul sucking scenario. For his shoot, Reita was neither resisting nor surrendering. It was a battle of wills the photographer wanted, which was a good thing because if he’d wanted anything else he wouldn’t have gotten it. The vast stores of chemistry boiling between the pair were something that the photographer appreciated while they were targeting such a struggle for dominance. It was the ReiKitty default, and if the photographer had requested anything else he would have still received their unendingly competitive under tone of mutual regard.
In face of Kitty’s failed nose-biting attack, Reita chuckled. “You know, I take it all back,” he said with a smirk. “I could get to liking you all tied up.”
In shifting a bit for the next photo, Reita realized that he’d miscalculated Kitty’s reach. She managed to catch a finger under the edge of Reita’s noseband. He froze; moving even another inch would have caused the noseband to slide, coming off in front of a camera no less! The triumph in Kitty’s eyes and the desperation in Reita’s made themselves apparent for another great shot.
After the camera snapped, Kitty pulled slowly on the noseband, guiding Reita closer to her. When he was where she wanted him to be, she slid the fabric off of his nose entirely, hiding the action from view with her sleeve. She bit Reita’s bare nose gently before kissing it better and replacing the noseband securely. The next shot of Reita backing away as Kitty leaned after him would quickly come to be one of the fans’ most favorite and most loathed of the entire series. The hints of deeper attachment in the shot could only make even the most jealous fangirl squeal.
There were only a few more shots before the shoot was able to wrap up, getting Reita’s approval of the pictures quickly and wrapping up without fanfare. Finally, after hours and hours of being hung up like a picture frame, Kitty was lowered to the ground. When her feet first hit the ground, she sighed in relief. She’d been in high heels the entire time but without the pressure of the ground beneath them they’d been disorienting more than anything.
A moment later, she realized just how disorienting as she faltered as she tried to take a step. Reita cursed profusely and scooped her up into his arms the moment the staff had freed her from the harness and wires. Now, Kitty was able to smack him, both for cursing and for treating her like some sort of damsel in distress. At this point, the GazettE’s other members had made their way over so as to be close enough for their obnoxious laughter to be easily audible.
Ignoring them entirely as any sensible person would have, Kitty wriggled in Reita’s arms. “My whole body feels really weird, like it all fell asleep and now I’m just a ball of pins and needles!”
“It’s a fitting punishment for the demoness that spent the day making everyone else uncomfortable,” Reita replied with a smirk that let her know that he wasn’t going to be forgetting her stunt with his noseband anytime soon.
Kitty laughed in resignation, terrorizing him had easily been worth any teasing now. “Come on, help me get out of these stupid shackles.”
“Ah, ah, ah; you’re a dangerous demon. I can’t just let you out,” Reita said with a wicked grin spreading across his face. “You have to tell me the magic words.”
“And what would they be? Please and thank you?”
“Like it would be that easy,” Reita said. “If you can’t guess them, I suppose you’ll just have to get used to being in those shackles. It could be your new fashion statement.”
Reita just shrugged and shift his grip on Kitty to make the shackles clink together. He actually wouldn’t mind being able to just tie her up now and again, so long as he was the only one that got to enjoy the privilege.
