“We
need a trampoline.”
It had probably been Miya’s idea. It could have been Maya’s but Aiji was usually on guard enough to keep Maya’s crazy suggestions from being put into play. Unless they were genuinely useful. Sometimes Maya’s craziness was just what an album or a video needed, so it could have been Maya’s idea. But his ideas generally trended towards how ridiculous a thing looked rather than how ridiculous a thing was to do. Stunts were usually Miya’s idea. It didn’t really matter though, as both Maya and Miya were having way too much fun with this one. LM.C was currently in the process of filming a new video. It was for an older song that they hadn’t put forward as a separate promotional entity, yet had still become a fan favorite. It was also a favorite of Miya’s. Between the two was reason enough to use the video as the first official video that used Miya and Haruki in place of LM.C’s usual support band. Jun, Ken, Denki, and even most of the crew form years past had each come upon their own projects, necessitating a shift in the LM.C line up. For the summer’s Lives, the fans had accepted Miya and Haruki. They’d have preferred the usual support group, but hey, things happened. This video was meant to gently introduce the idea that things really did happen, and the usual group might not be getting back together for a good long while, probably a few solid years at least. Miya and Haruki weren’t quite permanent fixtures, but their places in LM.C’s sound would at the very least leave a permanent mark of an Era. The fans liked the sound, and so did the band, and management to boot, so hopefully everything would go swimmingly. Still, it was always risky introducing anything that could be interpreted as a permanent change in the ranks. Of the two new support members, only one of them was really focused on work at the moment. She was helping Aiji and the crew look over the footage from the last take of the music video they’d shot of Miya and Maya bouncing around like idiots while Maya and Miya continued to bounce around like idiots. Maya was twirling his mic by the cord and Miya had her bass slung over her shoulder, since no music was playing that she needed to show the fingering for. She had the lollipop at the moment and was bounding across the checkerboard of mini-trampolines that consisted of the set’s floor as she tried to keep the prize away from Maya. The spring-loaded floor was a small space, but the chase was all the more exciting for it. Miya could have charged off set and gotten away with the prize, but by tacit agreement, the edge of the set marked the boarder of their battle ground. In a sudden burst of steps, Maya managed to grab hold of the strap on Miya’s bass. She slipped out of its hold in a deft movement that let her twirl away from him, the lollipop still secure in her hold. She sprung away from him in moon bounce leaps as Maya carefully set her instrument aside. The close quarters led to a few interesting maneuvers, and Miya was forced to leap over Maya, using him like a vaulting horse on more than one occasion. Maya managed to retaliate by latching onto her foot as she sailed over him. The pair of them went tumbling to the floor, rolling over each other in a bid for the lollipop. Maya ending up sitting on top of his rival, able to pluck the prize from her teeth and pop it triumphantly into his own mouth as Miya panted for breath; both of them were laughing like mad. Once Miya caught her breath, she squirmed out from under Maya and pushed herself to her feet. Maya sprang up as well and charged away from her. A few more minutes of bounding about and Miya launched herself at Maya, catching him right around the middle. The pair tumbled to the floor again in a fit of laughs as the lollipop changed hands for the umpteenth time that hour. A moment of panting and the cycle began all over again. Aiji and Haruki shared a smile. It was startling how much happiness could be generated by a few squares of sturdy cloth stretched between heavy duty springs. Even putting the two hooligans’ enjoyment aside, the rest of the crew was constantly amused by the antics occurring on set. A fantastic joy from a simple toy. ♡♥Finite♥♡ |
