Very sweet.
Your Story is a very sweet heart-break story, but it doesn't live up to Unbreakable. Aesthetically, it's quite pleasing. All of the scenes, indoor and out, have the same film quality to them, that nice cool-color mix in slight desaturation that gives the whole thing a very intimate feel. Also, when you have abs like Kim HyunJoong, you cannot go wrong with bearing a bit of skin. The plot progression and transitions between scenes are all very well done, even if they aren't quite as spectacularly deep as in Unbreakable. It bothers me in no small amount that we only see the couple in the context of sexual attraction and action. There's no fluff scenes of them just laying around being cute and happy, not even something like morning-after cuteness. It feels like their entire relationship is founded on the sex and that makes for an obvious reason that it didn't really work out for them.
Meh, it's okay. And the song's pretty good too. It has the sense of space and scale I would expect of a SS501 member and the harmonic complexity I'd hoped for as well. It's not my favorite song off Round 3 however, not by a long shot. If another song needed an MV from that release, I would have put my money on Gentleman. Admittedly, Gentleman is a bit too similar thematically to Let's Party and Leader's other releases to feel distinct so I understand not using it. But even so Like Before (예전처럼) would have been my next choice. That one has a lot of potential for the same sort of slow & sweet vibe that Your Story's MV went for, but it's just a better song. It also presents better situations to create a contrast between. Your Story is supposed to have the girl as just a memory, but as it stands the MV presents the girl and Leader as equivalent parties on the same page (which is clearly wrong because they broke up . . .). Like Before sets up melodic contrasts that could be exploited even if nothing changed cinematically.
